Jody Lukas presents a rich collection of poetry inspired by her years of teaching students within a Waldorf school setting. The varying subjects explored in this collection can be assigned as healing verses for individuals, used to enhance topic teaching, or simply read for pleasure by both children and adults alike.
The first six chapters focus on specially selected themes that serve as a valuable tool for encouraging personal development and environmental consciousness, while also connecting to the rich and developmentally relevant curriculum. The poems were originally written as birthday verses, designed to strengthen and harmonize the child’s capacities and act as guidance through the year. For the younger ages these themes are drawn from the World of Work, the Animal, Plant and Mineral Kingdoms, and for older children Historical Figures and Human Ideals.
This publication encompasses the freedom and creativity of being a Waldorf teacher. This book of poems will inspire parents and teachers, while also helping to empower and nurture the lives of children.
